'Volunteers, contractors, and HouseProud staff repair roofs, fix plumbing, redeck unsafe porches, install wheelchair ramps, provide floor stabilization, and many, many other repairs.'

HouseProud completes free home repairs for the elderly making senior residences warm for the winter and cool in the summer, electrically safe, and dry.

Example of free home repairs HouseProud completes for seniors include:

-Wheelchair ramp or access ramp repair
-Weather stripping
-Caulking of doors or windows
-Screening of porches or screen doors
-Insulation
-Minor repairs to heating or cooling units
-Thermostat replacement
-Ceiling fan replacement
-Installation of window A/C unit
-Electrical outlet replacement and fixture replacement
-Exterior security lights
-Repair of rotten floor
-Re-decking, re-screening porch
-Step repair or replacement
-Addition of exterior handrail
-Replace broken window panes
-Reparing roofs, shingle replacement

There are certain types of home repairs for seniors that HouseProud does not complete including those that exceed a certain dollar amount or repairs for cosmetic reasons.

HouseProud completes repairs for Atlanta’s senior homeowners with the help of individuals and groups of organizations who volunteer to help the elderly. Corporate sponsorships bring enthusiastic company employees to volunteer for HouseProud and in return HouseProud gives companies a reason to be proud by helping the elderly in Atlanta.
The Home Depot Foundation works closely with HouseProud as a sponsor. The Home Depot Foundation provides home improvements to the homes of elderly and disabled veterans by building wheelchair ramps and making other home repairs.
